Completing a Lesson
Take Attendance
You have two choices for each lesson:
1. Attended 2. No Show Click on the appropriate box and then enter your Lesson Recap details. IMPORTANT: Cancellations must come from the student side in order for them to receive a lesson credit needed for rescheduling a cancelled lesson. This is an automated process and you will not be able to cancel lessons for students. |
Lesson Recaps
Once you have taken attendance a Lesson Recap must be written. This recap is emailed to the student with a Google Review invite included.
IMPORTANT: The retention of students and growth of your studio is directly related the following three criteria: 1. Quality of Lesson Recap Content and Instruction
BOTTOM LINE: show that you CARE about your work and you CARE about them! Google Reviews (or lack of Reviews) are a tremendous gauge of our success as a faculty and individually. Give great attention to your Lesson Recaps. THOUGHT: Lesson Recaps consisting of one or two slapped together sentences convey a message of inconvenience. It would be better to not send a Lesson Recap, and not get paid, rather than tarnish the perception clients have about your teaching. PAYROLL: Attendance and a quality Lesson Recap must be completed by Noon the next day in order to get paid for the lesson. |
Lesson Recap Email
Here is what a Lesson Recap looks like that is emailed to your students. The recap will always include the following:
1. Your photo 2. A Lesson Recap (your educational expertise and guidance) 3. A button (direct link) to the students account 4. A DSM "Thank You" 5. A Google Review Invite IMPORTANT: it can not be stressed enough the impact that this professional protocol and gesture (a well thought-out Lesson Recap) has on your reputation as a professional music educator, the retention of students, and the development (growth) of your studio. |
Lesson Recap Tips
Lesson Recaps can include the following for added educational value and professional presentation:
1. HTML Formatting (H-Tags) 2. Number and Bullet Outlining 3. Bold, Italics, and Underlining 4. Links 5. File Attachment Take advantage of these powerful formatting options to illuminate your professionalism, teaching and guidance. |
Starting October 1, 2024, Kantata (formerly Mavenlink) will no longer be used at The Dallas School of Music.
