Mariela GomezBorn in Cuba, Mariela Gomez is a passionate singer and piano teacher. She began taking voice and piano lessons in the Elementary music school from her native city at a young age. After she graduated, Mariela moved to Havana City to study Choral Directing and Theoretic Careers in the National School of Arts. Upon the completion of her formal studies, Mariela moved back to her hometown in Cuba and became a professional Choral Master, Pianist, and Teacher of Theoretical Subjects like Solfege and Music Appreciation, to children of all ages.
In addition to working as a professional music educator, she performed with the Vocal Quartet called “Huellas” and “Ache” - a company of singers and dancers. During this time of professional teaching and performing, Mariela began university studies at Superior Pedagogic Institute “Felix Varela,” obtaining a degree of a Music Teacher. Upon graduating, Mariela took her talent overseas in The Arab Emirates, working under a contract as a singer and pianist in a variety of Trader Vic’s restaurants. Together with that work, she had the opportunity to be part of the faculty of music of “The Royal Academy of Music and Dance” as a voice teacher, in Dubai. Mariela came to the United States in 2015, settled in Texas, where she is active as a voice and piano teacher with children and adults. Currently serving as a Worship Leader at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Español, Lewisville Campus. Mariela loves keeping her skills alive and continually improving as an experienced educator and performer while maintaining her professional music studio at The Dallas School of Music.
