Garrett KhestinejadA native of Dallas, TX, Garrett Kheshtinejad (Mr.K) has grown up singing in choral ensembles since he was a boy. His mother, who received extensive training as a classical pianist, was always the one who actively encouraged him to pursue music at a young age and beyond.
Through singing in choir, Garrett has had many opportunities to travel and tour countries throughout Europe and the United States. In high school, he was selected as a tenor in the 2010 and 2011 Texas All State Men’s Choir. Furthermore, through his affiliation with the Youth Chorus of Greater Dallas, he sang for the official release of former President George W. Bush’s book Decision Points. He later moved to Princeton, NJ and completed his bachelor’s degree in music education, graduating magna cum laude from Westminster Choir College in 2016. During his tenure at Westminster, Garrett received numerous honors and the Rider Provost scholarship. He performed as a tenor and held positions in the Westminster Choir, Westminster Kantorei, and Westminster Symphonic Choir. Currently, Garrett remains active as a teacher and musician in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. He studies voice with Julian Reed (vocal coach and pianist with the Dallas Opera). This is his second year as a music teacher in Ft Worth ISD and he could not be more excited to help instill a love of music onward to the next generation (virtually or in-person).
